Sawyer (Alluring Indulgence #7)(109)
Author: Nicole Edwards

“Sawyer . . .”

“Yes, baby?”

“Fuck me,” she whispered, not sure how much more she could take.

“Are you sure?”

“Absolutely,” she replied as she pushed back against the invasion. She needed more.

His fingers slipped from her body and then he was lining up.

“I’m gonna go slow,” he told her. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

When he pressed forward, there was a blinding hot pulse of pain that shot through her, but it quickly disappeared as he breached her ass. And Sawyer did go slow, just as he promised. Almost too slow. By the time he was finally lodged inside her, Kennedy was practically begging.

Then Sawyer’s fingers joined the mix as he reached around her and played with her clit. “Am I hurtin’ you?” he asked, slowing his thrusts.

“No,” she said hoarsely. “Oh, God, please don’t stop.”

Sawyer increased the tempo of his thrusts until that tingling intensified and Kennedy knew she was going to come. She couldn’t even get the words out, couldn’t warn him because it came on so suddenly, the pleasure so intense, she saw stars behind her eyelids.

“That’s it, baby. Come for me. Aww, yes, just like that. God, you’re so fucking tight, Kennedy. So good.”

And then he stilled. She felt him pulse inside her and then they both collapsed to the bed. His weight was on her, but it was a comfortable warmth, something she craved. But it was gone before she wanted it to be when Sawyer got up and headed for the bathroom. He came back with a washcloth, as he’d done before. She tried not to squirm as he tended to her, cleaning her quickly before disappearing once more.

When he returned, Sawyer pulled her into his arms and she gratefully clung to him.

“I love you, Kennedy,” he whispered.

Her heart swelled as she whispered back, “I love you, too.”

chapter TWENTY-SEVEN

“How about dinner tonight?” Sawyer asked.

Kennedy smiled into the phone, enjoying the sound of his voice as she sat at her desk in her office, waiting for her next appointment. “Okay.”

“I’ll pick you up at eight if that works.”

“Works for me,” she told him. “But remember, we’ve gotta be up with the chickens tomorrow.”

“Oh, we will be,” he said softly. “Hell, you’ll be lucky if I let you sleep tonight at all.”

Kennedy grinned into the phone. The week had been so busy, including a couple of late-evening appointments that she’d had no choice but to keep, that she and Sawyer hadn’t spent but one night together. And yes, if Kennedy was entirely honest with herself, she missed Sawyer. She’d grown so accustomed to them spending their nights together that the last few days had been lonely.

“I’ll be ready,” she said.

“See you then.”

The call ended and Kennedy set her cell phone on her desk, continuing to stare at it. She couldn’t wipe the silly grin from her face. In fact, she was pretty sure it might just be permanently stuck. As she thought back over the last couple of months, her time with Sawyer, the events that had taken place—both good and bad—she found herself more content than she’d been in . . . a very long time. So much so, she was ready for the next step.

Not that she knew what that was, but it hadn’t taken her long to realize that Sawyer really wasn’t the same guy he’d been in high school. Well, if sixteen years wasn’t considered long. But in her defense, once she’d given in to him, it had been relatively easy to figure it out.

Figuring someone was going to come looking for her soon, Kennedy ventured out of her office and to the front to check on Jessie and Olivia. When she got there, she was surprised to see . . .

“Greyson? Is everything okay?”

“Hey, Kennedy. Mind if we talk?”

“No, I don’t mind,” she told him. Glancing over at Jessie, she said, “We’ll be in my office. Let me know when my next appointment arrives?”

“Will do.” Jessie watched Greyson closely, her eyebrows downturned.

Good to know the other woman was just as concerned by his impromptu visit as she was. But rather than contemplate what he wanted, she figured they could get right to it. Leading him back to her office, she resisted the urge to turn around and look at him. She didn’t want him to know she was just a little nervous about his presence.

Once he closed the door behind them, Kennedy turned to face him.

“I just came by to apologize.”

Kennedy’s eyes opened wide as she stared back at him. Of all the things she thought he’d say, that absolutely was not what she expected. And she was pretty sure the look on her face expressed that clearly.
